The Cisco DPQ3212 eMTA Modem is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem that enables wired telephone and internet services. It connects to the coax cable form the wall and delivers digital telephone and internet access thorough the connection ports on its back panel. The modem:

  • Can be activated for up to two phone lines, a high-speed internet device (such as a pc or router), and a secondary internet device via a 12Mbps USB port.
  • Requires subscription to Digital Telephone and High Speed Internet service.

The Modem Includes the following connection ports:
  • POWER - Connects the cable modem to the power adapter.
  • ETHERNET - Connects to the Ethernet Port on your computer.
  • USB - Connects to the USB port on your computer.
  • TELEPHONE 1 and 2 - Connects to the Telephone (or fax.)
  • RESET - Used for maintenance to reset the modem - may delete all previous settings.
  • CABLE - Connects to the cable wall outlet.

Modem Lights
 

The modem lights indicate the current status of the able modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below
 
Light Status Problem Solution
Power On None. N/A
Flashing No Power Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a wall switch.
Off No Power / No battery Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a wall switch
DS On None. Connected to the Internet N/A
Flashing Modem is trying to connect to service Verify all cable connections and that the modem is not in Standby mode. Try resetting the modem. If connections is OK and modem reset does not correct the problem try re-provisioning the modem
Off   Verify all cable connections try resetting the modem. Verify there isn't an outage in the area.
US On None Connected to the Internet N/A
Flashing Modem is trying to connect to service Verify all cable connections and that the modem is not in Standby mode. Try resetting the modem. If connections is OK and modem reset does not correct the problem try re-provisioning the modem.
Off No Power Verify all cable connections try resetting the modem. Verify there isn't an outage in the area.
Online On None. Internet available N/A
Flashing Power-on Self Test  
Off No connectivity to the Internet , or in Standby Mode Verify all cable connections try resetting the modem. Verify there isn't an outage in the area.
LINK On None. N/A
Flashing None. N/A
Off No devices connected Verify Ethernet cable connections, the TCP/IP settings and the NIC. You might need to reinstall the NIC drivers. If this does not resolve the issue, try re-provisioning the Modem.
Telephone 1 On None. Service available phone on-hook
Flashing Phone off hook Hang up the phone
Off    
Telephone 2 On None. Service available phone on-hook

Battery On None. Battery Good
Flashing Indicates battery charge is low. Make sure the power cord is connected to the unit and an active power source. If the battery is over seven (7) years old, contact Customer Support

MAC Address Label


The S/N is the serial number of the DPQ3212 modem.
The CM MAC is the MAC address of the DPQ3212 modem.
